Corning takes action against Highwave Optical Technologies on patent infringement
Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) initiated an action in Federal District Court against Highwave Optical Technologies of Lannion, France for patent infringement. The complaint identifies Highwave as infringing a Corning patent involved in the design and manufacture of photonic optical fiber.
Corning PureMode Photonic Fiber is a line of specialty fibers used in many high-performance optical communication devices including passive and active fiber-based components, optical amplifiers, dispersion-compensation fiber modules, and transmission lasers. Corning is a supplier of photonic fibers, including polarization-maintaining, high-index, reduced-cladding, erbium-doped, and photosensitive optical fibers.
