Packet-optical transport startup Cyan has added to its senior management team. The company has given a seat on its board of directors to Robert Switz, former CEO of ADC. It also named Scott Bauer chief financial officer.
Switz recently founded Tortolita Partners, serving as the strategic advisory firm's president and CEO. He works with companies on merger and acquisition strategy, interim and turnaround management, as well as board of director services.
"Bob's first-hand experience and success leading ADC Telecommunications and working with Tier 1 operators will bring a wealth of industry insights and an incredible set of contacts across service providers worldwide," said Michael Hatfield, president and CEO of Cyan. "Bob will also add another experienced perspective for Cyan's growing business and on how to better assist our customers as they continue to scale their networks while reducing costs."
"Cyan is truly unique among today's private companies because its cutting-edge packet-optical transport platforms and software systems enable operators to scale their networks, introduce higher-revenue services, and drastically reduce operating costs," said Switz. "I am also particularly impressed with Cyan's deep and experienced management team that understands what it takes to support its customers' needs today, while driving the company's global growth and expansion. I look forward to sharing my experience with Cyan from financial, technological, and market perspectives."
Bauer, meanwhile, will manage the company's legal and IT operations as well as the financial team. He earlier had held a similar position at Yipes.
