Astound Broadband launches 5 Gbps symmetrical service

Astound 5 Gig uses eero’s Max 7 Wi-Fi system.

On June 18, Astound Broadband and Astound Business Solutions announced the launch of a symmetrical 5 Gbps internet service for residential and small business customers. The service, Astound 5 Gig, is available in many of Astound’s fiber markets, including portions of California, Illinois, Maryland, New York City, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington.

Astound 5 Gig is powered by eero’s mesh Wi-Fi 7 system, Max 7, which can accommodate more than 200 devices and can deliver wired speeds of up to 9.4 Gbps and wireless speeds of up to 4.3 Gbps.

Astound CEO Jim Holanda said in a press release, “Simply put, Astound 5 Gig is our best internet ever, whether for residential or small business use. Our customers are responding with a resounding ‘yes’ to Astound’s high-quality service, reliability, and customer service, which were highlighted in the PC Magazine 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards.”
