IXC names executives for wholesale business

Kerry Pickens and Paul Raveill have joined IXC (Austin, TX) as vice presidents of sales for wholesale telecommunications services in the western and eastern regions of the United States, respectively. Pickens has worked for more than 18 years in telecommunications sales and marketing with companies such as Western Union, Telesphere, and Itec. Raveill has worked for more than 16 years in sales and management, and has been with WilTel, Premiere Communications, and RCA American Communications.

David Gibson has been named vice president of marketing and R.J. Rouse has been appointed senior vice president of global marketing for Ortronics Inc. (Pawcatuck, CA). Gibson has 20 years` experience in electrical marketing and sales. Before joining the company, he was construction market-segment manager for Affiliated Distributors. Rouse has 25 years` experience in international marketing, sales, and management. He has held vice president positions with Hubbell Inc., Siemens, and Emerson Electric.

Conrad Lewis has been appointed executive vice president of Access Products Group and chief technology officer at Newbridge Networks (Kanata, ON, Canada). Lewis has more than 24 years of industry experience, including 12 years at Newbridge. Also, Scott Marshall has been named executive vice president, Switching Products Group. Marshall has worked in the telecommunications industry since 1976. Jim Arseneault, who has more than two decades of telecommunications experience, has been named vice president, IP and Internetworking Products Group.

William J. Cadogan has been named chairman of the Telecommunications Industry Association`s (TIA--Arlington, VA) board of directors. Formerly TIA`s vice chairman, Cadogan has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He is also chairman and chief executive of ADC Telecommunications.

Gokul Hemmady has been named vice president and treasurer of ADC Telecommunications Inc. (Minneapolis, MN). Hemmady will be responsible for the global treasury activities of the company. He joined ADC last year as assistant treasurer and has been acting treasurer for the past six months. Hemmady previously worked at US West in capital markets and international finance and with Citibank.

Lawrence M. Harding has been appointed vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer and Jim O`Bray has been appointed vice president of operations at Omnia Communications Inc. (Marlborough, MA). Harding had been corporate controller at VideoServer Inc., where he led the company`s financial accounting and treasury functions during its successful initial public offering. O`Bray held senior manufacturing positions at Number Nine Visual Technology.

Evans Anderson has been promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing for CGX Communications (Washington, DC). He is also general manager of CAIS Internet, a subsidiary of CGX. In addition, Steve Roberts was promoted to vice president and general manager of CGX`s Cleartel long-distance and operator services company. Roberts had been vice president of sales. Also, Laura Neuman was promoted to vice president of sales for CAIS Internet and OverVoice, a proprietary, patented technology. Neuman had been director of OverVoice development.

Paul T. Kollar has been appointed vice president of sales of TriQuint Semiconductor (Hillsboro, OR). Kollar has 30 years` experience in marketing and sales of semiconductor devices. Previously, he was vice president of sales for Lattice Semiconductor.

Thomas J. Murphy Jr. has been named executive vice president of global networks and multimedia services at Pacific Gateway Exchange Inc. (Burlingame, CA). Murphy has worked in the telecommunications industry for more than 20 years, including five years at Cable and Wireless U.S., most recently serving as chief operating officer.

Ashok Barat has been appointed regional director for India at Telstra Corp. (Australia). Barat will oversee new business development as well as work with the company`s existing joint venture operations. Barat was formerly vice president of resources with Modi Telstra.

Richard Wadman has been appointed president and general manager of SIGECOM (Evansville, IN). Wadman has more than 15 years of telecommunications and cable-TV management experience. He most recently served as general manager of a 96,000 cable-TV subscriber system.
