Mi-Link, lcc, a joint venture between ChampTel, llc (Champlain, NY) and Mi-Tech Communications Inc. (Westminster, CO), has begun construction of a fiber-optic communications system between Albany, NY, and Montreal, QC, Canada. The system will be built on the Canadian Pacific Railway right-of-way. Mi-Link intends to sell conduits and fibers to other telecommunications providers and companies requiring capacity in the Albany-to-Montreal corridor. The conduit and fiber placement is expected to take approximately six months, with completion by the fourth quarter of this year.
