7 August 2003 London Lightwave Europe--Tellabs and the AMT Group have signed an agreement enabling the AMT Group to distribute Tellabs' managed access and next-generation optical networking equipment to telecommunications operators in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The agreement will extend the AMT Group's portfolio of telecommunications equipment by adding the Tellabs 6300 managed transport systems and the Tellabs 8100 managed access systems.
Ivan Evdokimov, General Director at AMT Group, said, "Tellabs' solutions will help us to provide carrier class communications solutions to network operators across the CIS. This will enable them to cost-effectively and efficiently deliver new and improved services to their customers today, while future-proofing their network for the delivery of next-generation voice and data services tomorrow."
Bill Burns, vice president of Tellabs Europe, Middle East and Africa, said, "We are delighted to welcome the AMT Group to our growing network of partners. They will provide the local specialised knowledge and support required by operators across CIS, maintaining and integrating our solutions into their customers' networks."
The Tellabs 8100 managed access system enables services to be provisioned through management software. It is used by service providers to provide fully managed carrier-class voice, data and video services to enterprises, and has been developed to ensure that capacity is continuously increased to meet new service demands.
The 6300 managed transport series is a next-generation synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) platform that enables service providers to open up new revenue streams by adding Ethernet capabilities to the transport network. These leading-edge, high-density products collect and consolidate voice and data traffic in the metro and regional areas.
AMT Group provides its clients with a wide range of services and technologies for building and maintenance of state-of-the-art data communication systems and distributed telecommunications systems regardless of their complexity.
The basic areas of AMT Group activity are design and building of information infrastructure for telecommunications companies and corporate clients, decision-making for small businesses, maintenance services and personnel training. It is continuously looking for new technological solutions and carefully chose hardware suppliers.
For these purposes AMT Group established a test laboratory which enables testing of both individual components and whole systems and stimulation to solve operation and maintenance problems. For more information please visit www.amt.ru
