APRIL 9, 2007 -- Photop Technologies (search for Photop Technologies) and Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics will jointly establish a lab for photonics technologies with applications in fiber-optic communications, lasers, and optoelectronics.

Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO) is one of five national laboratories in China sponsored by the Ministry of Science & Technology, P.R.C. in November of 2003. WNLO aims to construct a large-scale, scientific research platform to promote scientific innovation across many disciplines.

"By combining both Photop and WNLO's advantages in industry and scientific research, the joint lab will help Photop to develop innovative technology and science research," contends Sunny Sun, president of Photop. "I believe both Photop and WNLO will benefit from the cooperation."

Among the main objectives of the joint lab are to anticipate scientific and technological advances and establish industrial and scientific partnerships.
