SONET access system enables TDM, Ethernet service deployment at customers' premises
June 3, 2005 Minneapolis, MN -- As the latest addition to the company's line of next-generation SONET access platforms, ADC has introduced its LoopStar 810 Customer-Located Equipment (CLE) SONET access system. The company says the system enables service providers to cost-effectively deploy and manage TDM and Ethernet services to end-user customers from a single platform.
According to the company, the system is designed especially for CLE applications where service providers may efficiently deliver Ethernet business services as well as traditional DS1 and DS3 TDM-based services. The company says the product's compact design allows for easy installation in customer premises environments with limited space, and that its integrated connector-interface panel and wall-mount bracket enable front access to all cable connections across multiple deployment scenarios.
Centralized management and control of the system is provided by the company's LoopStar 800 element management system (EMS), a graphical user interface. An on-board, Web-local craft terminal is also provided for smaller distributed applications and craft access.
"Service providers need cost-effective and easy-to-deploy solutions that extend SONET network services to their end-user customers," says Mike Pratt, president of ADC's wireline and wireless business units. "The LoopStar 810 offers unique flexibility with rich feature functionality, which will help them broaden their services offerings, and generate new revenue, through its advanced multi-service transport and networking capabilities."
The system will be featured in the company's booth #23018 at next week's Supercomm 2005.
