Bookham Technology (Oxfordshire, UK) raised an additional $5 million in its fifth round of financial investment, bringing its total to $45 million. Volendam Capital Investors re-invested in this latest round, while several new backers emerged. New investors include Canada-based Mercator Investments Ltd. and Amerindo Technology Growth Fund, a U.S. company that handles more than $2.4 billion in emerging growth stocks for institutional clients. Bookham will use the investments to extend existing product lines to include optoelectronic devices for the dense wavelength-division multiplexing market.
