December 5, 2005 Hayward, CA -- Valdor Fiber Optics has developed a singlemode application for its field installable Inline Splice Connector line. With the development, the company says it now offers a complete platform for both multimode and singlemode splice connector applications.

The company says its Inline Splice Connector is an inline solution for restoring broken fibers in the field or for terminating fibers in a splice enclosure for FTTP/FTTH applications. The company says the platform enables capability to reopen the fiber line for service at a later date, for reduced downtime and reliable system restoration.

"In 2006 over 7,000,000 field termination connectors will be required for new homes and premises in the United States; a growing telecommunications market that is estimated to be in excess of $35,000,000," comments Richard Lam, marketing director at Valdor.

In addition to its existing multimode Impact Mount (IMT) connector lines, the company says it will introduce its singlemode ST and SC IMT connectors in the first quarter of 2006.
