Applied Fiber Optics Inc.,

Fremont, CA, hopes to ride a proprietary wdm channel design to market success. The new company uses a fused, cascaded fiber (fcf) solution that it claims offers precise channel separation with superior signal-to-noise ratio. The company will offer a pair of multiplexers. The first, an fcf-dwdm (dense wavelength-division multiplexer) structure, will be available in four- and eight-channel configurations. The second, a singlemode, two-channel wide dwdm, will be available in three pairs of wavelengths.
