Finally, an asset exchange between Qwest and Teleglobe Inc., Montreal, will allow Qwest to extend its network to London and give Teleglobe additional capacity on a fiber-optic network in North America. A recent agreement allows Teleglobe to swap up to four 155-Mbit/sec transatlantic circuits for up to four 155-Mbit/sec circuits on sections of Qwest?s U.S. network. Teleglobe?s network reaches more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Teleglobe plans to use the capacity it acquired from Qwest?s fiber-optic network to expand its reach in the North American market.
