SEPTEMBER 6, 2006 -- Tenvera will unveil its new System 5 solution at the Custom Electronic Design and Instillation Association (CEDIA) convention September 14 -17. While the company describes the offering as "Fiber Optics to the House," it's actually designed for in-home networking.
The System 5 optic network is designed to be built into the walls of homes and commercial and condominium buildings. The network will support at least 1 Gbit/sec says the company and will support a wide variety of services, including data, media and gaming.
Tenvera envisions that the System 5 will take the place of the many wires that now service home cable televisions, the Cat5 cable used for DSL or computer connections, phone lines for telephone and fax, as well as wiring for security system, remote controls, video servers, and home automation systems.
"Five years ago dial-up was OK, today it's not. Two years from now the speed of broadband is going to be lightning fast compared to anything available up until now. In order to remain competitive in the global market and fully exploit the innovation and creativity that American firms are known for, we must integrate and upgrade now," Brent Ware, CEO of Tenvera, says.
Tenvera's says the System 5 provides a number of benefits:
1. It "future proofs" and increases the value of a new home.
2. It provides almost 100 times the bandwidth to transmit pictures, voice, and data faster and clearer than with other alternatives.
3. It is easy to use. The fiber takes up very little space behind the walls, and a memory card inserted in any outlet in any room can change the outlet's use from a phone line to an electrical outlet, to Internet access.
4. It is easy to install, easier even than the old copper wiring, the company says. Tenvera's patented technology allows the fiber optics to be easily installed without specialized training, the company says.
