reltec Corp. of Cleveland, OH, is acquiring the St. Louis, MO-based Custom Design Telephone Systems Inc. (cdts). The latter will bring to reltec a complete line of telecommunications systems design, installation, and maintenance services offered by its internal infrastructure group and interconnect group. Dudley Sheffler, reltec`s president and chief executive, says the acquisition will give the company the ability to deliver superior turnkey services packages containing elements such as site development and construction, outside-plant deployment, system turn-up, customer training, and equipment maintenance.
