dt Corp., Hackensack, NJ, has signed an $8 million agreement with Global Telesystems Ltd. in Bermuda to acquire an indefeasible right of use on the Atlantic Crossing (AC-1) cable network between the United States and the United Kingdom. The new route, which combines wavelength-division multiplexing (wdm) with erbium-doped fiber amplifier technology, will be connected to the existing idt telecommunications network. The company expects to begin routing traffic over the new network by June 1998.
