Ridgeville Telephone chooses ADTRAN for fiber network expansion

Ridgeville Telephone Co. of Northwest Ohio will use ADTRAN Inc.’s (NASDAQ:ADTN) Optical Networking Edge (ONE) line for a multifaceted network upgrade. Ridgeville plans to extend the transport backbone for its 200-mile fiber-optic network, expand its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) footprint, and roll out Carrier Ethernet services in the region.

Ridgeville Telephone Co. of Northwest Ohio will use ADTRAN Inc.’s (NASDAQ:ADTN) Optical Networking Edge (ONE) line for a multifaceted network upgrade. Ridgeville plans to extend the transport backbone for its 200-mile fiber-optic network, expand its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) footprint, and roll out Carrier Ethernet services in the region.

ADTRAN says Ridgeville selected its ONE capabilities to provide edge-based packet optical transport with an integrated service delivery option. The capabilities enable both FTTH and Carrier Ethernet service delivery. Ridgeville will target the latter at its own business Ethernet customers as well as potential targets for its wholesale services, including Tier 1 mobile operators sharing the same fiber facilities. ADTRAN says its Advanced Operational Environment (AOE) ServiceMonitor will aid Ridgeville by troubleshooting network issues with tools that provide reporting of SLA compliance status and ITU-T Y.1731-based performance statistics.
