On May 9, DataBank held a dedication ceremony for its new Orangeburg Data Center Campus, located 30 miles north of Manhattan. The company also celebrated the campus’s first data center, LGA3, which is currently under construction and will open in early 2025.
Once finished, the LGA3 data center will provide 200,000 square feet of data center capacity and 30MW-45MW of critical power sourced from an on-site substation. The site will eventually accommodate a second facility (LGA4) and another 45MW substation.
The Orangeburg Campus will be connected to DataBank’s other carrier-neutral data centers: LGA1 and LGA2 in New York and EWR1 in Newark, New Jersey.
DataBank CEO Raul Martynek said in a press release, “Our new Orangeburg Campus lays the foundation for artificial intelligence infrastructure in New York State’s Hudson Valley. Its construction perfectly aligns with the State of New York’s Empire A.I. Initiative, which endeavors to establish New York as the national leader in A.I. research and innovation.”
