NY CLEC taps Pannaway for triple-play service delivery

June 28, 2006 Portsmouth, NH -- Pannaway Technologies today announced that Warwick Valley Telephone Company (WVTC) has selected and deployed its Service Convergence Network (SCN) IP access platform for the delivery of next-generation triple-play services to residential and municipal broadband subscribers in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

WVTC, a 104-year old ILEC and CLEC, currently is delivering high-bandwidth triple-play broadband services over a combination of Pannaway's Active Ethernet fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) and ADSL2+ technologies to its CLEC territory. In the company's second phase of deployment, triple-play services, including traditional telephony, voice-over-IP (VoIP), high-speed data, and high-definition TV (HDTV), will be made available to approximately 20,000 additional subscribers in surrounding areas.

WVTC is one of a growing number of IOC and CLEC service providers that have chosen to deploy Pannaway's SCN access portfolio at the core if its broadband network, say Pannaway representatives. Other SCN users include Cross Telephone of Oklahoma; Allendale Communications of Michigan; Empire Telephone of New York; Bruce Municipal of Ottawa, Canada; and KPU of Ketchikan, Alaska.

WVTC's new next-generation network consists of Pannaway's Broadband Aggregation Routers (BAR), which deliver Gigabit Ethernet-based transport with the capacity to scale to 10 Gbits/sec; ADSL2+ and Active Ethernet fiber Broadband Access Switches (BAS); and Residential Gateway NIDs (RGN). Pannaway says its SCN platform delivers full triple-play service capability in one tightly integrated offering that leverages the simplest and most scalable access technologies available--IP and Ethernet.

Pannaway's Broadband Access Manager (BAM) also is being used by WVTC to simplify the deployment, provisioning, and ongoing management of its new copper and fiber-based broadband equipment and services.
