Teknovus wins Telekom Malaysia CWDM PON deal

SEPTEMBER 26, 2007 -- Telekom Malaysia R&D Sdn Bhd has selected Teknovus for its WDM PON system under the Photonic Research Program, the chip supplier says.

SEPTEMBER 26, 2007 -- Telekom Malaysia R&D Sdn Bhd (TMR&D) has selected Teknovus (search for Teknovus) for its WDM PON system under the Photonic Research Program, the chip supplier says.

"Teknovus enables us to cost-effectively design and build WDM PON systems for the support of triple-play services over an EPON-based FTTH network," stated Dr. Shahruddin Muslimin, CEO of TMR&D. "Teknovus chips and software fulfilled our requirements for carrier-grade functionality with strict QoS [quality of service] guarantees on 1x64 fully loaded PON networks, while adhering to low-power usage."
