Kerpen, a provider of cabling solutions, is expanding its GigaLine fibre optic cable program and adding the GigaLine Econo series.

As the name suggests, these new fiber optic cables have been optimized with regard to cost and performance. At an external diameter of only 6.7 mm, the 12-fibre version with a central loose tube achieves a tensile strength of 1500 N. In contrast to other products available on the market, these properties make GigaLine Econo easy to lay and assemble while ensuring a high degree of installation safety. This is because the high intensity of the color coding of each fiber facilitates installation, especially under poor light conditions, and minimizes the risk of system failure due to bad splices.

These optimized universal cables can be supplied with monomode fibers according to the recommendations of ITU G652 and with Gigabit-Ethernet optimized graded-index fibers.
