JULY 17, 2008 -- Leviton (search for Leviton) has released its Opt-X Ultra Series High Density Fiber Rack Enclosures.

Constructed of tinted polycarbonate and 16-gauge powder-coated steel, Opt-X Ultra is designed to be both aesthetically appealing and durable for enterprise and data center applications. The 1RU, 2RU, and 4RU enclosures offer a host of accessibility and management features, including:

  • Easy-glide sliding tray is fully removable to facilitate high-density field terminations and splicing; front and rear of bulkhead remains accessible for moves, adds, and changes.
  • Transparent, removable front and rear doors and chassis covers provide enhanced visibility and accessibility.
  • Bulkheads accept plug-and-play MTP modules or splice trays and adapter plates.
  • Stackable, adjustable fiber management rings organize, protect, and store fiber slack.
  • 17-inch depth accommodates high-density fiber termination and splicing.
  • Patch cord bend radius guides prevent macro-bending of routed fibers at cable exit points.
"Today's voice and data networks are increasingly complex and require more sophisticated solutions to ensure end-to-end signal integrity and protection," said Scott Robinson, director, Fiber Product Management. "The Opt-X Ultra offers tremendous value for both enterprise and data center customers by providing a unique solution with improved fiber storage, management, and distribution capabilities. The design truly delivers a dramatically new and up-scale appearance."

Opt-X Ultra Enclosures are also available pre-configured for field termination and splicing through Leviton's make-to-order program. Options include splice trays, locking doors, 23-inch rack mounting ears, and cable strain relief bracket.
