October 11, 2005 Boston, MA -- Wave7 Optics and UtiliCor, a provider of electrical and communications products and services for the utility industry, have announced a strategic partnership to aid utilities and municipalities interested in deploying FTTP networks.

The companies made the announcement at the American Public Power Association (APPA) Community Broadband conference in Boston.

According to a press release, acting as an agent for Wave7 Optics, UtiliCor will engage with entities in the U.S. utility industry to discuss, at a stage early in the planning or bidding process, the benefits of Wave7's Last Mile Link and Trident7 FTTP systems. UtiliCor says it also will be able to assist with installation planning and other aspects in getting FTTP networks for utilities up and running.

"We see first hand how many utilities are interested in delivering the benefits of fiber-optic broadband services to their customers," says Rick Morrison, president of UtiliCor. "We are excited to be working with one of the true leaders in FTTP network equipment, and are impressed with Wave7's record of success and customer support."

"Wave7 is committed to bringing FTTP to the power utility space, and we believe that we are underscoring that commitment with this agreement, as UtiliCor is the best possible partner in enabling us to emerge as the clear market leader in the utility and municipal sectors," adds Tom Tighe, CEO of Wave7 Optics. "In fact, this relationship already is paying dividends, as seen last week in our announcement of the Pulaski Electric project in Tennessee."
