SEPTEMBER 6, 2007 — APA Cables & Networks (APACN — Minneapolis), a wholly owned subsidiary of APA Enterprises, released an 864-port cross-connect OSP cabinet as part of its fiber scalability center (FSC) platform. The cabinet allows technicians to deploy fibers in increments of 12 in a field-defined feeder/distribution ratio.

The cabinet offers flexibility by accepting incremental fiber increases, and on-the-fly feeder/distribution ratio adjustments. Users can scale from 12 to 864 ports without additional costs.

Each cabinet is field tested to maximize bend-radius protection, connector access, cable-routing ease, and fiber protection. Slack from patch cords is compactly and safely stored, minimizing damage to deployed fiber.

The cross-connect OSP cabinet can be converted to a PON cabinet, or an APACN PON cabinet can be converted into this cross-connect solution. It suits fiber deployment in telecommunications, cable TV, and business/premise interconnect projects.
