Atrica announces system integration deals with several European carriers
March 14, 2005 Hannover, Germany and Santa Clara, CA -- Atrica, a developer of carrier-class optical Ethernet platforms, today announced a series of strategic partnerships and distribution relationships with systems integrators in Europe and Eastern Europe. According to a press release, the company's platforms allow carriers to leverage one universal transport network to deliver triple play broadband services with high scalability, end-to-end Service Level Agreements, 50-ms network-wide resiliency, support for TDM traffic, and point-and-click OAM&P.
Atrica and Intellicom, a systems integrator in Macedonia, have formed a strategic reseller/systems integration relationship. The agreement, which according to the release combines the strength of Atrica's carrier-class optical Ethernet systems with Intellicom's extensive networking expertise and local knowledge, will bring the business and technical benefits of carrier Ethernet technology to Macedonian telecom operators, as well as comprehensive local service and support. Together, the companies plan to identify and pursue joint networking opportunities throughout Macedonia, with Atrica supplying its carrier Ethernet platforms, and Intellicom providing consultancy, systems integration, solutions delivery, and second-level support.
In related news, Makedonski Telekomunikacii, Macedonia's national telecom operator, has deployed Atrica's carrier Ethernet platforms, using systems integration and support services from Intellicom. According to the release, the operator is leveraging its carrier Ethernet infrastructure to expand the roster of high speed, high SLA services it offers to enterprise customers. The operator is planning to expand its service offerings to include a residential triple play services including IPTV, VoIP, and high speed Internet. For the deployment, Intellicom is providing project management, hardware platform delivery and installation services, software customization, and second-level support.
Atrica and ITM Group, a German systems integrator, also today announced a strategic partnership. Under the terms of the agreement, ITM will provide local systems integration services to carriers as they deploy Atrica's optical Ethernet platform. In addition to supporting joint customers, the companies plan to work together to identify and pursue joint metro networking opportunities in Germany and Austria. Working with Atrica, ITM says it will leverage its comprehensive knowledge of local markets to provide fulfillment and delivery services as well as second level support to metro carriers as they build-out, expand, and upgrade their telecommunications infrastructures with carrier Ethernet technology.
In a related announcement, German regional carrier htp has awarded a contract to Atrica and ITM for the expansion of the carrier's telecommunications infrastructure. With the agreement, Atrica's carrier-class optical Ethernet platform will enable htp to deliver an expanded range of advanced broadband services to its business and residential customers. ITM will oversee the implementation of the network and provide second-level support.
Also announced today, Atrica and Trigon, a Swiss systems integrator, have signed a strategic agreement whereby Trigon will resell Atrica's carrier-class optical Ethernet platforms, while providing systems integration services to carriers throughout Switzerland and Liechtenstein. In addition, the companies plan to jointly identify and pursue metro networking opportunities throughout the region. For the deployment, Trigon oversaw the implementation of Atrica's solutions and is providing all second level support.
