HSC, Fibrespan team to deliver metro Internet services
March 23, 2005 London, UK -- High Speed Communications (HSC), a London-based optical network service provider, and FibreSpan, a developer of metro fiber-optic cabling platforms, have announced that they are working together to extend the provider's network to new buildings and customers.
"We are now ready to offer bandwidth at prices and speeds you could only previously enjoy if you were based in a data center," asserts Scott Charles, HSC's operations director.
"We're talking about carrier grade circuits, with decent SLAs, installed on fiber-optic cable that we own and manage," adds Steve Tyler, Fibrespan's managing director. "Tenants can choose services from ADSL replacement services through to Gigabit Ethernet, each paying for what they use, when they use it, with contract terms of only a month."
The companies say their plan is to enable commercial landlords to cost-effectively provide tenants with reliable infrastructure, for a flexible selection of services.
"You don't pay for electricity when the lights are off - why should corporate Internet access be any different?" concludes Tyler.
