Polatis, JDS Uniphase ink worldwide distribution agreement

March 10, 2005 Anaheim, CA -- Polatis, a developer of optical switching technology, has announced a worldwide sales distribution agreement with JDS Uniphase, a manufacturer of of fiber-optic products for the telecommunication, data communication, and cable television industries. Under the terms of the agreement, Polatis' optical cross-connect switches will be available through JDS Uniphase's network of resellers, direct sales, and distribution channels.

March 10, 2005 Anaheim, CA -- Polatis, a developer of optical switching technology, has announced a worldwide sales distribution agreement with JDS Uniphase, a manufacturer of of fiber-optic products for the telecommunication, data communication, and cable television industries. Under the terms of the agreement, Polatis' optical cross-connect switches will be available through JDS Uniphase's network of resellers, direct sales, and distribution channels.

"To provide customers with instrumentation solutions that complement our existing portfolio, a broad range of optical switches available in the market were assessed," explains Thomas Znotins, vice president of JDS Uniphase's subsystems products group. "The high performance and small physical size of the Polatis optical switches make them a clear choice for our instrumentation customers."

According to a press release, Polatis' Micro-Actuation and Sensing System (MASS) technology employs tried and tested sub-components, such as piezoelectric actuators and optical collimators, to produce the company's Direct Beam Steering (DBS) optical switches.
