March 14, 2005 San Jose, CA -- Sunrise Telecom, a provider of service verification equipment for telecommunications and cable TV networks, announced today that its SONET/SDH module has been approved by and shipped to a Tier-1 network service provider based in the United Kingdom. According to the company, the recently introduced module for its SunSet Modular Test Toolkit (MTT) platform complements other Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and Fiber Channel metro service modules already delivered to the customer.
"The selection of the SDH/SONET module by such a major customer again demonstrates Sunrise Telecom's commitment and ability to understand service providers' rapidly evolving test requirements for next-generation network technologies," asserts Mike Venter, the company's director of sales and marketing for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
According to the company, its SunSet MTT platform is an upgradeable, rugged, compact field set of more than 30 different test modules that provide a unique reference for copper and fiber metro testing of voice and data wireline access applications. Such applications include T1/E1, T3/E3, SONET/SDH, ISDN, IP, Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Channel, ATM, Datacom, HSSI, x-DSL, OTDR, FTTX, and triple play networks. The company says its comprehensive modular testing platform generates significant advantages in reducing workforce training and test set acquisition costs, as well as in streamlining capital tool administration.
The entire SunSet MTT platform is currently on display at CeBit, in Hanover, Germany.
