FDNY taps CirTran's Racore
June 13, 2005 Salt Lake City, UT -- Racore Technology, a subsidiary of CirTran, has received an order from the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) for Racore's M8190A fiber-optic Fast Ethernet network adapters and Volition patch cords. The order was processed through Racore's new value-added reseller (VAR), U.S. Information Systems (USIS) of Nyack, NY. The order had a retail value of approximately $9,000, according to a press release.
"Serving our heroes is an absolute thrill for Racore and CirTran," comments Trevor M. Saliba, executive vice president of business development for CirTran. "We all know the FDNY once again lived up to its reputation as 'New York's bravest' when saving many thousands of lives on 9/11 nearly four years ago, and how they put their lives on the line every day. We are honored that they have turned to us, and trust that our Racore products will serve them well."
The company's M8190A fiber-optic Fast Ethernet network adapters and Volition patch cords support a range of fiber-optic Ethernet and Token Ring platforms, and provide a low-cost way to bring fiber to the desktop, supporting the Volition VF-45, as required by the FDNY, according to the company.
"This sale represents a new customer base for Racore and CirTran in the government sector," continues Saliba. "The FDNY requested a sample from us, tested and approved it, and then placed the order through our VAR, which was certified and authorized to sell to government agencies."
The adapters were built by Racore at CirTran's 40,000-square-foot ISO 9001:2000-certified manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, and delivered to FDNY through USIS.
