Blood Hills Telecommunications Inc.,

Calgary, AB, Canada, has begun construction of a 320-km fiber-optic network from Calgary to Sweetgrass, MT. The network, due to be completed this November, will provide such services as "plain old telephone service," high-speed Internet access, and data transfers, and will carry cable-TV signals. Nortel, in Brampton, ON, Canada, will supply most of the fiber-optic equipment. Kainaiwa Developments, the economic development arm of the Blood Tribe of Alberta, owns 50% of Blood Hills Telecommunications, with File Hills Telecommunication Corp. of Saskatchewan owning the other half.
