The Republic of Uzbekistan in Central Asia commissioned a 187-km fiber-optic network to be part of an international communications system linking Shanghai with Frankfurt-on-Main in Germany. The network will link the fiber-optic segments in the Republics of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan with international communications systems, according to Uzbekistan`s communications minister Abduvokhid Dzhurabayev.
