Remote fiber test system
The rfts tests fibers up to 200 km from a central location. This remote test system automatically monitors a fiber network, performs tests, and detects and locates faults, breaks, and other abnormalities without shutting down the network. The unit can test up to 48 fibers through a built-in otdr that has a dynamic range of >40 dB and a dead-zone of <5 m. The system includes a test system controller, optical test access unit, and otdr.
