Telia expands with Marconi's new high-capacity SDH

15 May 2002 -- In a one-year £10m frame contract (renewable for a further one year) Marconi is to supply its new SDH equipment to Sweden's Telia International Carrier for multi-service broadband communications.

15 May 2002 -- In a one-year £10m frame contract (renewable for a further one year) Marconi is to supply its new SDH equipment to Sweden's Telia International Carrier for multi-service broadband communications.
Comprising Series 3 SMA16 and the complete family of Series 4 products for metro access, plus high-capacity MSH64C and MSH256 systems (up to 40Gbit/s) and MSH2K and MSH-E digital cross connect equipment (from 80Gbit/s to 2.16Tbit/s) for transport, it will "enhance our core network at a time when maximising our investment in our existing assets," says Telia's Mattias Fridstrom.
Telia was one of Marconi first customers for SDH in 1992 and has over 10,000 units of Marconi SDH equipment installed.
