ECI Telecom to build backbone for Korean wireless provider

ECI Telecom Ltd. (Petah Tikva, Israel) announced a $6 million order to supply an optical backbone network to Korea's wireless communications provider, Hansol M.com.

ECI Telecom Ltd. (Petah Tikva, Israel) announced a $6 million order to supply an optical backbone network to Korea's wireless communications provider, Hansol M.com.

ECI Telecom's dense wavelength-division multiplexing and Synchronous Digital Hierarchy equipment will be deployed to form an optical backbone network to deliver voice, data, Internet, and video. The new network will additionally enable Hansol to expand its services and capacity for future needs. ECI Telecom's eNM management solutions will centrally monitor and manage the entire backbone network.

ECI Telecom expects to complete delivery of equipment of the new Hansol contract by the end of the second quarter of 2000.
