4/4/00 Vianet Technologies Inc. (New York, NY) announced an OEM reseller agreement with Beyond Broadband Networks Inc. (BBN--Taiwan) to serve fiber access demand in Taiwan and mainland China. The new partnership allows Vianet to expand the reach of its fiber access products in the Pan-Asian telecommunications market.

Under the terms of the agreement, Vianet grants BBN exclusive rights to endorse and market the Vianet access product line in Taiwan. As part of a national telecommunications network upgrade, BBN and Vianet will first install Synchronous Digital Hierarchy and digital loop carrier equipment.

BBN's established relationship with government-owned Chungwha Telecom provides an existing customer base for Vianet access products. In addition, BBN has strong ties to the telecommunications market in Mainland China, providing further opportunities to extend distribution. Established channels into Korea have enabled Vianet to develop fiber access products that meet international standards. These include the Starpoint and Starburst product lines, which provide direct delivery of fiber to the home, business, and curb in emerging fiber markets.
