General Offshore recently completed laying fiber-optic cable for the flag (Fiber-optic Link Around the Globe) submarine cable system extending from the United Kingdom to Japan. The company installed and buried 18 shore ends in 10 countries on the 26,000-km network. General Offshore used several burial tools during the project, including a tracked remotely operated vehicle; a lightweight plough; and injector technology.
