Esprit Telecom Group plc, Reading, UK, anticipates creating one of the largest independent voice telecommunications providers in the Netherlands through its purchase of Interaktieve Media Services BV (ims Telecom), a Dutch telecommunications services company. Esprit Telecom has a fiber-optic network extending to 19 cities in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, and Ireland. ims Telecom is a reseller focused on smaller businesses, national and international voice, fax, and Internet telecommunications services, while Esprit Telecom serves medium-sized and large businesses. The companies will trade under their own names until early this year, and then offer joint services under the Esprit Telecom name.
