Air-pulse dispenser helps apply consistent adhesive

The 1500XL dispenser increases yields and reduces rejects in fiber optic assembly processes by using a timed air pulse to apply the same amount of adhesive on every part. By using a timed air pulse instead of operator guesswork to apply an accurate, consistent amount of adhesive on every part, EFDs 1500XL dispenser increases and eliminates waste and rework.

Unlike hand syringes, dental picks and other manual tools that rely on operator judgment to control the amount of adhesive applied, the microprocessor-based 1500XL makes it easy for any worker to make accurate, consistent deposits as small as 0.008 inches in diameter.

The 1500XL dispenser console is connected to compressed air and electricity, and adhesive is loaded into a disposable syringe linked to the console by a flexible air line. The convenient teach function makes it easy to determine the correct amount of adhesive to apply and compensate for changes in adhesive viscosity. Once the size of the first deposit is determined, the operator simply positions the dispense tip and presses an electric foot pedal to put an identical amount of adhesive on the next part.
