The Advanced Flight Intercon nect fiber-optic con nector uses mil-approved termini with the lowest loss of any termini available, accord ing to company claims. The termini is self-aligning, and free- floating construction provides isolation from external disturbances. A cushioned, low mating force ensures 2000 mating cycles. A removable socket is available for quick cleaning of the termini optical face. The connector features an antivibration ratcheting mechanism to prevent creeping and disengagement under severe mechanical vibration and shock. The device suits communications, data links, and commercial aviation and military applications.
