10 FEBRUARY 2009 -- euNetworks, a provider of data services, says it has concluded an agreement with the RIPE NCC -- an independent, not-for-profit membership organisation for ISPs, telecommunication organisations, and large corporations -- to deploy a private fibre network to connect the RIPE NCC's data centre locations in Amsterdam.
The RIPE NCC, founded in 1992, is one of the world's five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) and provides global Internet resources and related services to a membership base of approximately 6,100 members in 75 countries. With ever-increasing global demands for bandwidth and greater security, the RIPE NCC needed a highly available and scalable network to connect two data centre sites in Amsterdam. euNetworks deployed fiber|nex, a private fibre network offering for high-performance, extremely reliable networking. The offering is designed to provide the RIPE NCC with an extremely secure platform for data transport and recovery, meeting their most demanding requirements when it comes to scalability and availability.
Andrei Robachevsky, chief technical officer of the RIPE NCC, commented: "The RIPE NCC was looking for a provider who could supply us with a scalable and reliable solution to connect our data centres in Amsterdam. euNetworks have fulfilled these requirements, providing us with a high-performance networking platform."
