March 13, 2006 Wheaton, IL -- AT&T signed a five-year contract to provide optical networking services to Wheaton Franciscan Services (WFSI), a non-profit healthcare organization. The carrier says it will integrate its optical GigaMAN service to link the organization's LANs to a single regional network via dedicated, point-to-point gigabit Ethernet connectivity.
"We're enhancing our dedication to exceptional customer service by using the innovative information technology and logistics capabilities provided by AT&T," comments Larry Griffith, director of technology operations, WFSI. "By introducing the services of AT&T, we expect to see increased customer satisfaction and heightened efficiency through our use of consistent voice and data transmission across our entire network."
AT&T says the boost in bandwidth will allow the organization's converged network to support secure data transfer among locations as well as applications such as VoIP. The healthcare organization operates more than 100 health and shelter agencies, including 17 hospital campuses in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois.
"We are very pleased to supply Wheaton Franciscan Services with our high-performance GigaMAN service," concludes Vicki Jones, president of business communications services at AT&T. "Our solution will assist WSFI in its efforts to provide exceptional customer service to its patients and partners."
