January 3, 2006 New York, NY -- Metro data services provider FiberNet Telecom Group announced that OTEGlobe, the subsidiary for the international voice and data businesses of OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization S.A.), the main telecom operator in Greece, will utilize FiberNet's Manhattan "Meet-Me-Room" to install the U.S. node of the operator's international MPLS/IP network.
The operator says that co-location at FiberNet's Meet-Me-Room will facilitate business critical interconnections to its international and North America carriers. FiberNet will also provide OTEGlobe with 24/7 technical support services.
OTEGlobe serves telecom customers in southeastern Europe and the Middle East region; the company says it supports carriers and multinational enterprises through the provisioning of integrated, customized international products and services. To expand its business in the North American markets, OTEGlobe says it required a co-location provider with a dense metro network, capabilities to provide business-critical support, and experience working with other international service providers. The operator says that FiberNet met its needs by directly interconnecting OTEGlobe with over 600 domestic and international carriers for its crucial traffic exchange requirements. Through the deployment at FiberNet's interconnection facility, the operator says that OTEGlobe is strategically located within the same space as many of its connectivity partners.

FiberNet's Manhattan interconnection facility, located at 60 Hudson St., is utilized by customers including AT&T, British Telecom, and Verizon.
