OCTOBER 12, 2006 -- M2 Optics, Inc. has introduced a new rack-mountable device that can be customized to compensate for the dispersion and dispersion slope of SMF-28e, LEAF, AllWave, and TrueWave fibers in the C-Band to improve analog and digital (BER) performance.
The M2 Fiber Lab Model DCF is a 1U high, 19-inch rack-mount chassis that can be loaded with dispersion compensating fiber (DCF) to correct for the dispersion effects created by fibers over a long distance. Capable of enhancing BER performance in digital systems and reducing second order effects in analog systems, it can be supplied with SCUPC, SCAPC, FCUPC, or FCAPC connectors.
Suitable for use in field deployments, development labs, manufacturing test areas, telecom and CATV systems, and simulation networks, the M2 Fiber Lab Model DCF Dispersion Compensating Fiber device is an effective method for correcting the dispersion that occurs normally in fibers.
The M2 Fiber Lab Model DCF Dispersion Compensating Fiber device is priced based upon fiber type and length. Literature and pricing are available upon request.
