NOVEMBER 7, 2007 -- FiberNet Telecom Group Inc. (search for FiberNet), provider of complex interconnection services, today announced that it has deployed a transcontinental network connecting its metropolitan networks in New York/New Jersey and Los Angeles. FiberNet customers can now purchase on-net transport services between these key gateway markets, say company representatives.
"The growth of our Network Solutions business warranted this significant network expansion," explains Jon A. DeLuca, president and CEO of FiberNet. "We will now be able to optimize our network traffic more efficiently, and we will continue to deliver the exemplary customer service and leading installation intervals that are our hallmarks," he says. "This network deployment, together with our recently announced collocation expansion projects, positions us for growth as we head into 2008."
Utilizing multiple 10-Gbit/sec wavelengths in a diverse network architecture, FiberNet says it is capable of delivering traffic in multiple transmission protocols, including SONET, SDH, and Ethernet, with increased speed, capacity, and flexibility.
