Filament fusion splicing workstation

The FFS-2000 automated filament fusion splicing workstation provides a platform for both production and research and development splicing applications. The unit features a high-magnification optical system that provides True Core Imaging capabilities for alignment and splice-loss estimation, stepper motor control of fiber X-Y alignment with 0.01-micron resolution, and a Windows-based user interface. The system also includes a fiber coating soaking station, thermal coating removal station, fiber-cleaving station, ultrasonic fiber-cleaning station, filament fusion splcing station with automatic post-fusion fire polishing, and a UV curing recoat station for acrylate restoration.
