Tempo Communications’ Westek Electronics acquisition bolsters testing equipment position  

The acquisition enhances the company’s product line.

Tempo Communications has acquired Westek Electronics, a manufacturer of custom cables and connectivity products serving the telecommunications, medical, aerospace, and military industries.

The acquisition, effective May 1, 2024, will enable Tempo to diversify its product line with Westek’s custom cables and connectivity solutions.

By acquiring Westek Electronics, Tempo said it strengthen its position as a key player in the test equipment market. This move opens new avenues for innovation and growth and allows Tempo to offer a broader range of high-quality products and solutions, thereby meeting the evolving needs of industries worldwide. 

“The impactful partnerships they've cultivated with leading telecommunications companies present an exciting opportunity for Tempo to deepen its significance within a critical segment of our customer base,” said Jason Butchko, President of Tempo Communications.

Targeted acquisitions have become a key focus for the company to enhance its growth prospects. Westek is the second acquisition that Tempo has made in the past year.

In July 2023, the company purchased Kingfisher International, an Australian-based manufacturer of handheld fiber optic testers. This acquisition accelerated the company’s growth in the fiber installation and maintenance sectors across the telecom, datacom, wireless, electrical, and defense industries.
