Segra enhances reach with Everstream’s St. Louis metro fiber acquisition

Oct. 1, 2024
The new acquisition illustrates the provider’s strategy to bring competitive options to more customers.

Segra has acquired Everstream’s fiber network in the St. Louis metropolitan area, advancing ongoing efforts to improve customer service options by adding nearly 1,000 route miles to its national network.

The new fiber footprint will connect Segra’s Southeast and Midwest networks, bringing greater capacity, fiber connectivity, and customer-focused technology solutions to a broader market.

Segra said its initial goals for the acquisition are twofold: to ensure a smooth transition for existing customers and give them access to its national service footprint and service offerings. Both new and existing customers will be able to leverage a mix of IP, Ethernet, and dark fiber architectures and a suite of other services.

This acquisition follows Segra’s recent Unite Private Networks (UPN) integration.

Segra was acquired by Cox Communications in 2021 and merged with UPN in July 2023. The combined strengths of both Segra and UPN are already paving the way for enhanced service offerings across the U.S.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
