ZCorum: DOCSIS Provisioning Adapter for DOCSIS Provisioning of Fiber

ZCorum's DOCSIS Provisioning Adapter (DPA) allows cable operators to provision their fiber devices using their existing DOCSIS provisioning system.

ZCorum's DOCSIS Provisioning Adapter (DPA) allows cable operators to provision their fiber devices using their existing DOCSIS provisioning system. Since cable operators have a significant investment in their HFC networks, the platform provides an interim step for cable operators still managing and supporting an HFC network but also want to deploy fiber in select service areas. The application parses the necessary modem configuration information by interfacing with the operator's existing DOCSIS provisioning system. Then, it formats the corresponding settings for proper service activation on the fiber access controller system. For example, a cable operator can add a new fiber subscriber to their BSS/OSS by selecting a symmetrical gig package; DPA receives that request and activates the ONT to come online at that speed. If the operator changes a package in their BSS/OSS, DPA will handle that change.
JUDGE'S COMMENT: "This is the first open, vendor-agnostic DOCSIS Provisioning Adapter, allowing fiber system vendors to address the cable market."
