As optical transport network (OTN) operations become increasingly complex, ZTE’s OTN management and control system is evolving towards IBON (Intent-based Optical Network), an intent-driven, intelligent and simplified optical network architecture. IBON integrates SDN, AI (Artificial Intelligence), and DT (Digital Twin) simulation and analysis technology. Intent-based provisioning is a typical solution to solve bottlenecks in service creation. Only a minimal amount of key information, such as bandwidth, source, destination, and user type, must be input manually. Input methods include keyboards and natural language processing.
JUDGE'S COMMENT: "ZTE's IBON approach promises to enable network operators to deal with the increasing complexity of OTN service mixes."
