C Spire brings fiber connectivity to Osyka, Mississippi
C Spire is launching its ultra-fast fiber connectivity in Osyka. With this launch, more than 250 residents in the city will soon have access to C Spire's multi-gig home internet, which offers faster internet speeds than DSL or cable, enhancing everyday activities such as streaming, gaming, and video conferencing. C Spire buries its fiber underground to protect it from weather and to bolster reliability. The initial construction phase gets underway in the first five areas in Osyka later this month. C Spire anticipates completing the construction in all areas within three months.

Dobson Fiber lights first fiber Internet customers in Okmulgee, Oklahoma

With construction continuing throughout 2025, thousands of Okmulgee homes and businesses will soon have access to Dobson’s fiber network.

Fidium delivers multi-gig, all-fiber connectivity to Brewer, Maine
Fidium has expanded its multi-gig, symmetrical-speed internet service to more than 4,500 homes and businesses in Brewer, Maine. Greenlight Networks launches fiber service in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
Greenlight Networks has begun its latest network expansion in Pennsylvania. Work is underway to bring its fiber internet service to South Central communities. Backed by a $5.8 million investment, the project will give Chambersburg residents and small businesses access to Greenlight’s fiber services starting this summer. The buildout will connect over 5,000 homes and small businesses with fiber internet service. Greenlight is partnering with local contractors to assist with the network buildout and will look to minimize as much disruption as possible to the roads and communities. Construction has already begun in the Chambersburg neighborhoods of Shasta, Liberty, and Scotland. Lortz, Arthur and Orchard are slated to follow. Greenlight is partnering with the Franklin Fire Company to host its network equipment as part of this expansion.

Mediacom Communications introduces multi-Gig speed services in Des Moines, Iowa
Mediacom Communications has begun launching multi-gig and symmetrical speed broadband services in Des Moines. Utilizing DOCSIS technology to enhance the company’s fiber-powered network, the company has already started activating the new network on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis. It expects to complete the entire City of Des Moines by August 2025. Utilizing the new platform, customers will be able to choose from the following Xtream Internet offerings from Mediacom:

  • Internet 300 tier with speeds of 300 Mbps down and 100 Mbps up.
  • Internet 1 Gig Symmetrical tier with speeds of 1000 Mbps down by 1000 Mbps up.
  • Internet 2 Gig Unlimited tier with speeds of 2000 Mbps down by 1000 Mbps up.

The scalability of these network improvements will seamlessly allow Mediacom to ramp up from today's one—and two-gigabit offerings to speeds of 10 Gbps and beyond in the coming years.

Metronet extends fiber internet service to Darien, Ill.
Metronet is bringing its fiber network to Darien, Ill. This privately funded multimillion-dollar investment will provide residents and businesses with ultra-fast, reliable internet, offering symmetrical speeds of up to 5 Gbps for homes and up to ten gigabits per second for businesses. Construction will be underway in the coming weeks, with the first customers expected to gain service before the end of summer.

Ripple Fiber awarded $4M GREAT grant for Harnett County, NC build
Ripple Fiber has received $4 million in federal funding for its Harnett County, North Carolina project through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and North Carolina’s Growing Rural Economies with Access to Technology (GREAT) Grant program – a program locally led by the Broadband Infrastructure Office of the N.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT). This project will bring fiber internet to 856 unserved and underserved locations across the county, including 844 homes and 12 businesses, by late 2026. Internet access will significantly improve for the impacted residents and enterprises in Broadway, Coats, Dunn, Lillington, and Sanford communities. This build results from a finalized agreement to acquire CloudWyze’s fiber assets, with Ripple Fiber assuming the associated broadband grants previously awarded under North Carolina’s GREAT Grant program. As of March 2025, the State of North Carolina officially approved and completed the grant transfer to Ripple Fiber, paving the way for the provider to execute this broadband expansion initiative.
