PODCAST: ACA Connects and NCTC leaders weigh in on emerging cable broadband trends
While it’s clear that large Tier 1 telcos and cable operators are leading the broadband charge with ongoing fiber and DOCSIS upgrades, independent telcos and cable operators are no less aggressive. A key place to look at what’s happening in the independent segment are NCTC and ACA Connects, two advocacy groups that serve as a collective voice for their members.
With the 2025 Independent Show set to take place next week in Salt Lake City, Lightwave caught up with Lou Borelli, CEO of NCTC and Grant Spellmeyer, ACA Connects president and CEO, to talk about the show and the key issues its members are facing.
We looked at various trends, including the new FCC, fiber broadband, Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD), AI and new video streaming and convergence opportunities.
